Paris Jackson is currently taking a break from touring with her band after traveling around different parts of the United States since May. On Sunday, June 25, she went for a walk in West Hollywood accompanied by her beloved Doberman Pincher named Koa.
This date holds significant meaning for the singer-songwriter as it marks the 14th anniversary of her father, Michael Jackson’s, passing. Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, from cardiac arrest caused by a propofol and benzodiazepine overdose.
Paris, known for her thoughtful fashion choices, wore dark blue skinny jeans with distressed knees, a brown and tan-patterned jacket over a black t-shirt, and black high-top sneakers. Her long dark brown hair was styled with a slight part on the right, pushed back from her face for added volume. She completed her look with stylish, large-frame sunglasses.
While strolling through the streets, Paris held tight to Koa’s leash. Koa was seen wearing a dark harness over his body and a blue bandana around his neck. Paris displayed her role as a responsible dog owner, maintaining a steady pace alongside her furry companion.
After a month-long tour, Paris Jackson returned home to Los Angeles. She performed at various prominent venues, including the 2023 Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival and the 2023 BottleRock Napa Valley music festival. According to her website, Paris and her band are scheduled to resume their summer tour with a show at the Wonderstruck festival in Cleveland on July 8 and 9.
The tour will continue until August 29 in Grand Junction, Colorado, after which the band will take a break before their highly anticipated homecoming gig at the renowned Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 6.
On this day in 2009, the news of Michael Jackson’s death began to spread. The King of Pop passed away just three weeks before his sold-out concert residency was scheduled to start in London, England. Paramedics were called at 12:22 p.m. PT when reports emerged that Michael Jackson was not breathing. Despite their efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. PT at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Subsequent investigations revealed that Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, had administered various medications to help him sleep at his rented mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles.
Paris Jackson was only 11 years old when she received the heartbreaking news of her father’s passing. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone when she was 18, she shared that time does not heal the pain completely but rather makes it more bearable. She adopted a mentality of enduring any future hardships with the understanding that they cannot be as devastating as losing her father.
She also mentioned that her father frequently visits her in her dreams, stating that she feels his presence constantly. Paris faced a challenging period following her father’s death, experiencing depression, drug addiction, and a suicide attempt at the age of 15. She has since overcome those dark days and is now pursuing a career in rock music.
